How to

BATHE YOUR DOG IN 5 STEPS

A little preparation can make bath time easier and help you get better results from your shampoo.

Brush in layers

Brush through their coat before bathing to remove loose fur and gently work through tangles.

Water can tighten existing knots, so it's best to handle them before their coat gets wet.

Wet

Thoroughly wet the coat with lukewarm water. Work through dense, curly, or double-coated areas to make sure the water reaches beneath the surface.

Wash

Apply shampoo in sections and massage it gently through the coat and toward the skin. Let the shampoo stand for 5 minutes for best results.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use We Love Doodles shampoo on any coat type?

Yes. The shampoo guide applies to short, long, curly, wavy, and double coats. The amount of shampoo and the time needed to work it through the coat may vary based on coat length and density.

Can I use We Love Doodles shampoo on my puppy?

Yes, it's designed to be gentle and soothing, making it ideal for puppies and dogs with sensitive skin.

How much shampoo should I use?

Select your dog's size and coat type in the guide above for a recommended starting amount. Add more as needed for long, dense, or especially dirty areas.

How long should I leave the shampoo on?

To thoroughly clean your dog's fur, lather the shampoo and let it stand 5 minutes before rinsing.

Can I use the shampoo around my dog's face?

Avoid applying shampoo directly around the eyes, nose, mouth, and inside the ears. Use a damp washcloth to gently clean the face and other sensitive areas.

What should I do if the shampoo gets into my dog's eyes?

Rinse the eye gently with clean, lukewarm water. Contact your veterinarian if redness, squinting, or irritation continues.

Why does my dog's coat still feel slippery after rinsing?

A slippery or coated feeling may mean shampoo is still present. Continue rinsing, especially around the belly, legs, chest, and other dense areas, until the water runs clear and the coat feels clean.

Can I let my dog air-dry?

You can, but curly, long, and tangle-prone coats may develop knots or mats while drying. Gently towel-dry the coat and brush it in sections as it dries.

Can I use human shampoo on my dog?

We Love Doodles shampoos are formulated specifically for canine skin and coats, allowing the product to effectively clean, condition, detangle, and moisturise for a healthy, shiny coat.
